WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR FIRST CLASS
-
This really is a come-as-you-are space. Wear whatever you feel comfortable moving in.
We are a no street shoes facility to help keep our floors clean for the babies and toddlers who spend lots of time down there! Bring clean training shoes, or feel free to participate in socks or barefoot.
Flatter-soled sneakers or training shoes work best for strength training—or feel free to lift in socks or barefoot. Hokas and running shoes aren’t our friends when lifting.
Bring a water bottle! We have filtered water + pebble ice (the good stuff), and bottled water for purchase if you forget yours.
-
Free parking is available behind the gym and neighboring laundromat, with additional street parking nearby.
Wednesday evening heads-up: The Forest Grove Farmers Market runs April–October from 4–8pm, so give yourself a little extra time to park—or walk or bike over if you can!
-
Come a few minutes early to check in, meet your coach, and get settled. We have three entrances—one on 21st Ave and two facing the laundromat. Use whichever is most convenient.
-
Life happens. Work runs long. Kids have meltdowns. Parking gets weird on market nights.
We’re a something is better than nothing kind of gym. We don’t lock the doors when class starts, and there are definitely no burpee penalties. Come in, get settled, and join us as quickly and respectfully as you can.
-
We keep our classes intentionally small so everyone has enough space, equipment, coaching, and individual attention.
If a class is full, join the waitlist! If you're registered and can no longer attend, please cancel as soon as possible so someone else can take your spot.
-
Perfect. You don’t need any strength training experience to start here. Your coach will teach you the movements, help you choose appropriate weights, and offer options based on your experience and capacity. You don’t need to get in shape before you come to the gym.
-
Absolutely—but where they hang out depends on the program. Mama Strong classes are intentionally designed with motherhood in mind. Babies and young children are welcome in the gym space during Build, while older kids can hang out in the lounge.
For classes where children aren’t specifically included, they’re still welcome to hang out in the lounge or seating areas off the gym floor. We just ask that they can hang out safely without disrupting class and respecting the space
-
Ladies Lift Club is generally designed for women 18+. Girls Lift Club programs have designated age ranges. Exceptions may be made individually at the coach’s discretion.
-
Maybe! New movements can cause some muscle soreness, especially if strength training is new to you or you’re returning after some time away.
Your coach will help you choose appropriate movements, weights, sets, and reps as you get started. Movement, hydration, protein, and rest can all help—and that initial soreness usually becomes much less noticeable as your body adapts.
-
That’s okay. We believe in options over limitations. Your coach can help you modify movements based on your current needs and capacity. If something falls outside our scope, we’ll encourage you to connect with the appropriate healthcare provider before continuing.
-
Reservations for active members open two weeks in advance. If your class is full, hop on the waitlist—you’ll be notified if a spot opens up.
DESIGNED WITH WOMEN IN MIND
It really is the little things. Our space was intentionally designed around the women who use it—and the real lives (and tiny humans) they bring through our doors.
For our little members, we’ve got bouncers, activity mats, and jumpers to help keep our tiniest members happy while you move in our foundations and build classes. Our bathrooms also have a changing table, toddler toilet seats, and step stools—because the littlest members deserve some amenities, too.
LITTLE MEMBERS
CLEAN FLOORS FOR EVERYONE
We’re a no-street-shoes facility, helping keep our floors cleaner for crawling babies, playing kids, bare feet—and the rest of us who spend a surprising amount of time down there.
Our bathroom vanities are stocked with period products, hair ties, face + body wipes, deodorant, lotion, dry shampoo, and other essentials. Use what you need—we’ve got you.
THE LITTLE THINGS
Our lounge was made for more than waiting. Settle onto the couch to chat or nurse a baby, grab a coffee or tea, fill up with filtered water + pebble ice, or let your little one play with our regularly disinfected toys and books.
