OUR STORY

Strength & Grace began in 2024, when founder Rachael Henry started a small postpartum return-to-fitness class for new moms trying to rebuild strength, find community, and feel a little more like themselves again.

Little by little, that one class grew into multiple programs—through rented gym space, garage workouts, and a growing community of women of all ages who wanted a different kind of fitness experience.

In 2026, Strength & Grace became Strength & Grace Collective, opening our very own downtown Forest Grove location, allowing us to expand our mission beyond strength training to more intentionally support women’s well-being through movement, nutrition, education, and community.

Today, the Collective is a space where women of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can access evidence-informed strength training, women’s health education, and meaningful community—with an approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and pelvic health.

We believe women deserve a place to lift heavy, ask questions, bring their kids, honor their capacity, and feel supported as their bodies and lives evolve.

OUR VALUES

  • OPTIONS OVER LIMITATIONS

Every body, every season, and every day is different. We don’t believe there is one “right” way to train. Our coaches help you find options that meet your body, experience, and capacity where they are today—while still giving you opportunities to challenge yourself and grow. An adjustment isn’t a failure or a lesser version of the workout. It’s good coaching.

  • HONOR YOUR SEASON

Bodies change. Lives change. Capacity changes. Pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, menopause, aging, injury, stress, and everything in between can change what training looks like—and that’s okay. We believe in honoring the season you’re in without underestimating what you’re capable of. Meet yourself where you are. Build from there.

  • STRENGTH FOR LIFE

We care about what your body can do, not how closely it fits someone else’s idea of what it should look like. We train to build muscle, confidence, resilience, and capability—not to shrink ourselves or earn our food. Because when women learn to lift heavy, challenge themselves, and trust their bodies in the gym, that strength has a way of showing up everywhere else, too.

  • COMMUNITY OVER COMPETITION

Strength & Grace is a space where women of different ages, abilities, bodies, backgrounds, identities, experiences, and seasons of life are welcomed and valued. You don’t have to look a certain way, come from a certain background, or have a certain level of experience to belong here.

We also believe that building a stronger community means working with others, not against them. We value collaboration with other coaches, fitness professionals, local businesses, and community organizations—and believe there is room for all of us to do good work.

Our stories, strengths, and approaches may look different, but we often have more in common than we realize. We choose connection over comparison, collaboration over competition, and creating more opportunities for women to feel strong, supported, and connected.
